Category: Scale Model Kits
This 1/24 scale model kit from Hasegawa recreates the classic Mini Mayfair from 1997. It offers hobbyists a detailed building experience, capturing the iconic design of this beloved compact car.
The body shell fits together with barely any gaps, and the 1/24 scale really shows off that boxy Mini silhouette. I spent a whole weekend on it and the finished model looks like it just rolled out of a 1997 showroom.
The dashboard decals are sharp enough to read without a magnifying glass, which makes the interior feel properly finished once the body goes on. Took me a rainy weekend to build, and the chrome bits really pop against the classic green paint.
The body panels fit together so cleanly that I barely needed any putty, which is rare for a 1/24 scale kit. The 1997 Mayfair’s boxy rear end and small details like the wipers really pop once painted. Took me about a week of evenings, but the finished shelf presence is worth it.
