This 1/12 scale model kit from Hasegawa recreates the iconic Yamaha TZR250 (3MA) from 1989. Designed for hobbyists, it offers a detailed building experience that captures the look of this classic motorcycle.
The fairings fit together almost perfectly, which is a relief after some fiddly kits I've built. The transfer decals for the 1989 livery are crisp and really bring the classic TZR look to life on the shelf.
This was my first time building a 1/12 motorcycle kit and the TZR250’s panel lines are so crisp they almost snap together. I spent a whole evening on the engine block alone, and the detail on the 3MA’s twin pipes looks brilliant once you get the decals on.
The decals for the Marlboro-style livery are crisp and surprisingly easy to position, even for someone like me who usually messes those up. Took me a couple of evenings to get the engine assembled, but the final look on my shelf is well worth the patience.
