Category: Kit di Modelli in Scala
This 1/12 scale model kit from Hasegawa recreates the Yamaha YZR500 (0W98) in the SONAUTO YAMAHA 1988 racing livery. It is a detailed scale model kit intended for hobbyists and collectors.
The engine block detail on this 1/12 kit is incredible for the scale, and the SONAUTO decals lay down thin enough that they don't silver over the panel lines. I spent a good two evenings just dry-fitting the bodywork before glueing, and the finished bike looks like it just rolled off the 1988 grid.
The molded fairing panels fit together with almost no seam work needed, which is a relief for a 1/12 scale build. The Sonauto blue and white livery decals settled nicely over the curves once I used plenty of softener, and the finished bike looks race-ready on the shelf.
The decal sheet for the Sonauto Yamaha livery is incredibly crisp, and the white fairings have that perfect 1988 race-season look once you get the panel lines cleaned up. I’ve built a few 1/12 bikes, and the fit of the cowling pieces on this one was surprisingly tight with almost no putty needed.
